26.06.17 Generous sponsorship for Bolivia partnership

The STUTZ AG donated the amount of 25'000 Swiss Francs for the North-South partnership programme of the Thurgau University of Teacher Education and the Escuela Superior de Formación de Maestros Simón Bolívar in La Paz. With this generous donation, the construction company from the eastern part of Switzerland has ensured that students from Bolivia will be able to visit the Thurgau University of Teacher Education also in the future.

The Thurgau University of Teacher Education has maintained a North-South partnership programme with the Escuela Superior de Formación de Maestros Simón Bolívar in La Paz, Bolivia (ESFM Simón Bolívar) since 2011. During the first 6 years of the development of the partnership programme, the Foundation of the Thurgau Cantonal Bank very generously supported the programme. The amount of 25'000 Swiss Francs from the STUTZ AG is a new donation.

This generous support from the STUTZ AG will ensure the mutual partnership for an additional two years. In this way, both the students from Kreuzlingen as well as the students from La Paz will be able to equally participate in the programme. In the course of the project, a group of students from either of the two universities collaborate throughout an entire year. Together they address issues such as global connections and reciprocal dependencies in the world. In the course of their collaboration, they meet twice, once in Kreuzlingen and once in La Paz. The purpose of these visits is to get to know their specific life, study and school situation. Furthermore, respective dependencies as well as correlations are identified and discussed.

In addition, the partnership is financially supported by the foundation éducation21 in collaboration with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
