09.10.21 Autumn Meeting of the Comenius Association at the PHTG

PHTG hosted the annual meeting of the Comenius Association from 5 - 9 October 2021.

From 5-9 October 2021, the PHTG hosted the annual meeting of the Comenius Association, an international network of European higher education institutions whose work focuses on teacher education and social pedagogy. The main objectives of the Association are to promote international exchange as well as intercultural projects, European programmes and other actions in the field of education.

The working meeting therefore also focused on these objectives. First, the effects of the pandemic and future perspectives for mobility and exchange were discussed and the new international study weeks offered by the individual member universities were presented.
Under the new Belgian-Spanish co-leadership, important decisions were also made on the future direction, focal points of work and a renewal of the website and logo. As always, however, there was also enough space to cultivate bilateral relations between the individual member universities and to discuss important information on the new Erasmus+ programme.

Around the working sessions, the PHTG was able to present itself as host and partner, to present its study programmes and to give an insight into the region with a varied framework and excursion programme.

The 19 participants from 12 nations were very impressed by the varied programme of the International Office and extremely grateful for the opportunity to finally get back into a direct and personal exchange with each other after a long break due to the pandemic. From the PHTG's point of view, this meeting was also very enriching, as the exchange with the guests gave various lecturers a good opportunity to establish initial contacts for future staff mobility. The week also paved the way for the organisation of an international study week at the PHTG.
